Free Spring Craft Fair at Workbridge on Saturday

Workbridge will be hosting a free Spring Craft Fair this Saturday, featuring a variety of handcrafted items, arts and crafts, and locally produced food and drink.

The event - which runs from 10-4pm on Saturday 20 May - will feature stalls from local businesses, and a range of woodwork, textiles, canvas prints, plants and ceramics made by people who attend Workbridge on Bedford Road.

Workbridge provides people with mental illness, learning disabilities, autism or brain injuries the opportunity to learn and develop work and life skills through a broad range of vocational activities. The activities on offer at Workbridge encourage service users to learn independence, respect, teamwork and trust; building skills, knowledge and self-esteem in a supportive environment.

Chloe Dowell, Service Manager for Workbridge, explained: “The philosophy behind Workbridge is to provide people with an opportunity to work as part of a team, and we teach both technical and life skills, enabling our service users to see their potential in the community. On Saturday there will be a wide range of unique gifts and handmade items on sale, and visitors will have the chance to look around our facilities and visit our garden centre, charity shop and coffee shop. Everyone is welcome!”

Handmade jewellery, crocheted accessories and knitwear, greetings cards, paintings, paper crafts, home accessories, sweets and preserves will also be on sale on the day, and the Workbridge coffee shop will be serving a selection of hot and cold drinks, light lunches and freshly baked treats.

The fair takes place on Saturday 20 May from 10am-4pm. Workbridge is located on the Bedford Road, Northampton NN4 7AD. Entry is free, and there is also free parking available on site.
