World Mental Health Day
One of our top stories this month was released to coincide with World Mental Health Day on October 10.
- Consultant Psychologist Dr Inga Stewart wrote about the importance of putting boundaries in place for the sake of our own mental health. That was published in the Northampton Chronicle.
- Thomas Cooney, one of our Peer Support Workers, shared his personal story about how he has suffered two traumatic brain injuries in his life, and that he now uses his experiences to help other people at our charity. You can read his journey here in the Chronicle.
Rebound Therapy helping recovery
- Our Rebound Therapy sessions have attracted a lot of media interest this month with stories being covered on the BBC News website, BBC Radio Northampton, the Chronicle and Echo, Money Control, MSN in India, Health and Me. The story also reached Germany and the public broadcaster from the country ARD came to visit St Andrew’s to film a Rebound session with a patient.
Moral injury and the link between the shortage of doctors and nurses globally
- Dr Deborah Morris, Director of the Centre for Developmental and Complex Trauma (CDCT), co-wrote an article about moral injury and the link with the global shortage of doctors and nurses. You can read about it in LaingBuisson, the Chronicle and Echo and the NR Times.

Our new Director of Nursing, Cat Vichare was featured in the Nursing Times, LaingBuisson, the National Health Executive, Business in the Midlands, and the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce, NR Times.
