The University of Northampton’s Summer Graduation ceremonies have been taking place this week at the Royal and Derngate Theatre, and thousands of students have celebrated their success with their friends, family, class-mates and lecturers.
Among the graduands were a number of staff from St Andrew’s Healthcare in Northampton, who have been supported to continue learning while working for the charity. The group, which included staff working as Healthcare Assistants, nurses and as clinicians, received their awards on Thursday 20 July.
Twelve members of staff received their Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education in Mental Health, five graduated with a BsC in Mental Health Nursing, two people completed their Master’s certificates and one received a postgraduate diploma in Education.
Ged Rogers, Clinical Education Manager for St Andrew’s, attended the event. He commented: “It was a great day and so good to see our staff realising their potential and wanting to continue with their studies through our ASPIRE Nurse training programme and other routes. Well done to you all.”
St Andrew’s ASPIRE programme provides financial and ongoing pastoral support to staff who wish to complete a nursing degree. There are currently more than 60 St Andrew’s people at various stages of their academic journey. For more information regarding Nursing at St Andrew’s, please click here.
Congratulations, everyone!
