Award nominated podcast ‘On the Ward’ launches second series for World Mental Health Day

The award-nominated podcast from St Andrew’s Healthcare, called On the World, is back for a second series just in time for World Mental Health Day this Saturday October 10^th. The unique podcast recorded from inside a psychiatric hospital aims to challenge some of the myths and taboos associated with complex mental illness.

The podcast is presented by Staff Nurse John-Barry Waldron, who has worked at St Andrew’s Healthcare for 15 years. In the second series he’ll be speaking to a range of staff members from Healthcare assistants, to psychologists and nurses, as well as featuring patients detained under the mental health act.

John said: “Series one was so successful, it was so important we came back for a second series and heard from more patients so we can educate people and improve attitudes towards those suffering with mental ill-health.”                                                                                                                 

The On the Ward podcast, which has been nominated for a Nursing Times award, is available now on ITunes and Google Play.
