University to join us for recruitment day

St Andrew’s Healthcare and the University of Northampton are working together to find the nursing stars of the future, by hosting a recruitment day on Thursday 17 May.

The University offers two nursing courses that are directly related to working for St Andrew’s: mental health and learning disability nursing. Potential nurses are welcome to attend the event, and ask questions to University of Northampton lecturers about what the courses involve and the support on offer to students.

The recruitment day starts at 10am on 17 May and there will be opportunities to find out what St Andrew’s has to offer in terms of employment, and its treatment and rehabilitation services.

At 11am, there will be a presentation by Executive Medical Director, Dr Sanjith Kamath, who will talk about the charity and its vision for the future. There will also be opportunities to meet with other teams and learn about the personalised care that the charity offers to patients.

In addition to qualified nurses, St Andrew’s is also seeking healthcare assistants and other talented individuals who can transform lives across the charity.

David Anthony, Head of Recruitment at St Andrew’s Healthcare, commented: “This event will be a brilliant way for experienced nursing and healthcare professionals - and those looking to move into mental health - to find out more about the great work we do here at St Andrew’s.

It’s great having our key university partner on site to demonstrate the courses and support available, and the many ways we support our staff to become qualified nurses.”

John Turnbull, Course Leader for Learning Disability Nursing at the University, added: “The recruitment day is the perfect opportunity for anyone serious, or just curious, about becoming a learning disability nurse to meet the team and have all your questions answered, there and then.

“We’ll be working with our brilliant St Andrew’s partners on the day to offer all the advice and information budding Northampton nurses need.”
