St Andrew’s Healthcare Birmingham

Specialist secure mental healthcare, delivered closer to home

Located in Stirchley, South Birmingham, St Andrew’s Healthcare Birmingham is a 128-bed hospital providing specialist medium and low secure inpatient services for men and women. We support people with complex mental health needs, including those with personality disorders, learning disabilities, forensic histories or who are currently within the criminal justice system.

At St Andrew’s Healthcare Birmingham, we provide specialist medium and low secure inpatient mental healthcare for adults with complex mental health needs, forensic histories, and behaviours that require a safe, structured, and highly therapeutic environment.

Based in the heart of the community, our secure services offer a broad range of therapeutic programmes coupled with access to education, vocational training, work experience and community facilities. This approach means patients can learn essential life skills early in their recovery journey and engage in positive risk-testing during community leave, allowing them to re-integrate back into the community as soon as possible.
